Ladder 6 is a 2018 Pierce® Velocity™ custom built for the Flourtown Fire Company. Ladder 6 has a 525hp Detroit Diesel engine and an Allison 4500EVS automatic transmission. It is a 105’ rear mount aerial ladder and has a cab that fits 8 firefighters. A first for Flourtown, this truck has a dedicated waterway and Pierce®1500 GPM, Single Stage, PUC. The Ladder is equipped with the normal truck company equipment. It is one of the few ladder trucks in the area to carry a 45’ ground ladder, aka “a bangor” ladder. Ladder 6 runs first to building fires in our first due. Ladder 6 also runs out of the district to mutual aid companies many times.
