Flourtown Receives Merit Citations

On the evening of September 10, 2015, the Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors honored the emergency services personnel from within and around the township, and throughout the county, who responded to the Washington Towers apartment complex fire in the early hours of January 28, 2015.

Among the many other responders honored, Flourtown Fire Company was awarded a Distinguished Unit Citation, and Merit Citations were awarded to the crews of our first responding apparatus:

Firefighter II Class Attends PECO Energy Training Facility

As part of the Firefighter II National Certification class, that members from Flourtown, Oreland, Barren Hill and Centre Square Fire companies have been attending over the past several weeks, one of the requirements is to attend the PECO training facility and work on extinguishing gas/propane fires. On Monday 6/22/15 they fulfilled this requirement.

Flourtown Responds to Vehicle Rescue in Whitemarsh

On Saturday, June 13th, Flourtown responded with Barren Hill Fire Company, Springfield Ambulance Association and Whitemarsh Community Ambulance Association to an overturned van on Bethlehem Pike in Whitemarsh Township.

One occupant was entrapped.  The accident sheared the base of a telephone pole and brought down power lines.  Squad 6 was in service with hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the victim.

Flourtown’s Fire Police Officers assisted Barren Hill Fire Police and Whitemarsh Twp. Police with traffic control until the roadway could be re-opened.

Flourtown Responds to 3-Alarm Fire in Cheltenham

Flourtown Fire Company responded with Ladder-6, to a three-alarm high rise fire in Cheltenham Township.

Flourtown Responds to House Fire in Skippack

Flourtown’s Squad 6 was called at just before 3 AM on Monday, June 15th to relocate to Skippack Fire Company, to cover the local companies who were fighting a house fire.  En-route, the Squad was diverted to the scene to assist.
