Flourtown Wins at 2011 State Convention

Once again Flourtownm Fire Company came home winners from the Pennsylvania State Firemens Convention, this time is was hosted by Lake Harmony and Albrightsville Volunteer Fire Companies in the Pocono Mountains. After a lot of hard work shining up the apparatus by all the members of Flourtown, and in particular Jim Weir, Al Steinmetz, Bob Wentz, George Wilmot, Jr.and Chief George Wilmot, III the company came away with the following awards:
  • First Place:  Best Appearing Rescue/Pumper – Squad 6
  • First Place: Best Appearing Chiefs Vehicle – Command 6
  • Second Place:  Best Appearing Motorized Antique – The 1936 Little Hahn
  • First Place: Best Appearing Dalmatian – Miss Halligan
As you can see it was a very successful weekend, George and Carol Wilmot really stepped up to help feed and hydrate the crew throughout the weekend. We also want to thank Lake Harmony Fire Company for allowing our company to place Squad 6 within it’s firehouse for the weekend, you were great hosts.
Also Miss Halligan – owned by Assistant Chief Chris Buckley and his wife Debbie has continued their impressive run of wins with their dog, now Pennsylvania State Firemens Convention Best Appearing Dalmatian 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Command 6 Now in Service

Flourtown Fire Co. has recently placed in service a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe Command Vehicle. Command 6 is equipped with a full LED lighting package, MDT, SCBA, Extinguishers and various meters. It also has a Command center in the rear.

New apparatus logos to celebrate the 100th Anniversary

The official logo for the Flourtown Fire Company’s 100th Anniversary now adorns the rear of Ladder 6, Engine 6 and Squad 6 to celebrate the Century of Service Flourtown has provided to the community.

Thanks go to Chief George Wilmot, III, Chief Engineer Dave Scott and President Tim Ernst for designing and working with Pierce and Charlie Mullin to have the logos applied to the rear slide-up door on each of the trucks.

Flourtown Fire Company Adds MDT to Engine 6

FFCo’s Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) that is installed in Engine 6 goes online with the Montgomery County 911 Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System. (06-Feb-09)

1993 Pierce Lance Pumper (Squad 6) is Sold

Saying Goodbye to Squad 6, 1993 Pierce Lance was sold to Jon’s Truck and Equipment Sales, Rogerville, MO. April 2009. New Squad 6 (2009 Pierce Quantum) was scheduled to arrive in July 2009.
