The members of Flourtown send our condolences to the Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Company and to the family and friends of Brad Price. Rest in Peace, Brad.

It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that the Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Company announces the passing of 14-year Volunteer, Brad Price.

Brad joined the Fire Company in 2008 and remained active with the fire brigade until moving out of Whitemarsh Township. Even after moving out of town, Brad continued to serve BHVFC and Whitemarsh Township in an administrative capacity.

Brad had a huge personality that filled the room when he walked through the door. He would give the shirt off of this back and lend a hand to anyone that needed it. A great start to a great partnership!

The Flourtown, Oreland, and Wyndmoor Fire Companies stopped by the high school today to talk to students about joining their local fire company. Students also had an opportunity to check out some of our equipment.

Benefits of joining the fire company include:
1. Earn high school credit towards graduation.
2. Fulfill volunteer hour requirement for consideration of community service and National Honor Society.
3. Looks great on college and job applications.
4. On the job training that enhances a variety of skill sets- mechanics can learn to work on diesel engines with each apparatus; writers can learn how to write and submit for public safety grants and help maintain social media accounts for… More

At approximately 1:10 this afternoon the Flourtown Fire Company,Barren Hill Volu…

At approximately 1:10 this afternoon the Flourtown Fire Company,Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Company, Whitemarsh Township Police and the Whitemarsh Ambulance Assocciation were dispatched to 7147 Camphill Road in Whitemarsh Township .
It was reported to be a train vs dump truck at the grade crossing.
No injuries occurred during the accident, but a fuel spill from the dump truck required the response of representatives from Montgomery County HazMat Team.
All the necessary agencies were notified by the incident commander.
As of this time, the event is under control but units are still on the scene.
