New Emergency Power Generator Arrives

Flourtown Fire Company applied for, and received grant money to purchase a new emergency power generator to replace our antiquated generator, which is over 50-years old.

The new generator will provide more running watts, run quieter, and use less fuel.

During times when power is lost, the emergency generator supplies electricity to all critical components of the station allowing us to continue to provide emergency services to our community when storms disrupt power to the our station.

On the evening of June 18, 2014 in the John Kulick Memorial Auditorium at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Campus, four of Flourtown Fire Company’s firefighters were recognized for their achievement of obtaining accreditation and certification as Firefighter Level 1.

Daniel Biddle, Craig Michelbacher, Mitchell Seltzer and Alexis Wilmot were part of the class that completed the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy Essentials of Firefighting and Emergency Response Curriculum. This class required the students to complete 166-hours of training in order to receive their State Certification as a Firefighter Level I.

Congratulations! The Flourtown Fire Company is proud of your achievement, and even more proud to have you as members of our department.
