Flourtown Responds to Middle School

Flourtown Fire Company responded to the Springfield Township Middle School on 12/23/14 at 12:33 PM.

The initial dispatch was for fire alarm sounding on the first floor of the school.   Assistant Chief 6, the first arriving officer found smoke, and had an odor of electrical burning on the first floor.  Upon this discovery an upgrade was requested for additional resources.

Both Oreland and Wyndmoor Fire Companies were dispatched to the scene.

A compressor in a heating unit in a classroom was found to be the cause of the smoke.  Members placed fans in service to remove the smoke from the school.  There was no damage to the building.
