Flourtown Responds to Train Rescue

On July 1, 2013, at about 9:30 PM Flourtown, along with Barren Hill, Fort Washington and Whitemarsh Ambulance responded to an emergency call that someone had been run over by a train at the Fort Washington Train Station. On arrival, Chief 6 found a female entrapped under the train. He requested additional rescue resources and that SEPTA personnel de-energize the train so the patient could be removed. Fire personnel light the scene and transported rescue equipment onto the tracks. The rescue was completed in about 25 minutes and the patient was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital.
